On Monday, May 3, 2021, the following eight organizations sent a joint letter to DOE Secretary Jennifer Granholm that requests that DOE establish an office dedicated to nuclear waste management:
- American Nuclear Society (ANS)
- Decommissioning Plant Coalition (DPC)
- Energy Communities Alliance (ECA)
- National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC)
- Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI)
- Nuclear Waste Strategy Coalition (NWSC)
- Sustainable Fuel Cycle Task Force Science Panel
- United States Nuclear Industry Council (US NIC)
The NWSC Executive Committee thanks these organizations and hopes that DOE will grant our collective request.
